St. Mary's Ball and Charity Auction invitations hope to reach 2,500 supporters
For the first time, St. Mary's Ball and Charity Auction Committee will be reaching 2,500 St. Mary's supporters.
Invitations to the ball and auction were mailed this week to parishioners, alumni, grandparents, employees and friends of St. Mary's.
"We're very excited at the prospect of reaching everyone in the parish, all the alumni, as well as our past supporters," noted Grace Ivey, who is chairing this event with husband, Dr. Troy Ivey.
In the past, volunteer ticket salespeople painstakingly made personal contacts to hundreds of potential supporters, but were unable to reach all of St. Mary's supporters.
The 2001 Ball and Charity Auction - "Passage to the Far East" will be held Saturday, March 24 at 6 p.m. in the Dows Grand Ballroom of the Buena Vista University campus. Dave and Mary Drey, both alumni of St. Mary's High School, are co-chairs of the event. Deb Myers is ticket sales chair.
As the number of invitations mailed is so large, only the first 400 ticket payments will receive tickets. Tickets are $35 per person, minimum donation, and may be purchased with cash, check, Visa or MasterCard. Also, donors wishing to appear in the pre-printed auction program and catalog should be sure to mail in their payment early.
Those wishing to support the event, but cannot attend will be able to mail in their response card with a financial contribution of any size.
St. Mary's is limited to the number of seats available, due to the size of the event. Last year's event was sold out.
Those attending the ball and charity auction this spring will be treated to a sit-down prime rib dinner. Beer and wine cocktails will be provided courtesy of Commercial Trust and Savings Bank.
