Alta Superintendent Fred Maharry said he has been pleased with the group of people involved in the Facilities Study Committee to date.
Thirty-three community members were present at Monday night's meeting.
"We have a great group of people who are bringing many good ideas to share," Maharry said. "We are hopeful that we will make a difference in the community by gaining an acceptance of what we're doing. Our goal is to be as inclusive and open as possible with everyone."
The committee discussed the application for the building construction grant, which the school district has finalized. Maharry wrote the grant in order to apply for as much money as possible for the district.
"I explained to them that no final decisions have been made concerning this grant because the final decision will come out of this committee," Maharry said. "The committee will be making a recommendation to the board in June as far as what they want to see done."
The committee also discussed what they should look for in school facilities as they began to weigh their own options.
