Graduates from University of Denver

Jaime Leigh Brower graduated on Aug. 13 from the University of Denver, Denver, Colo. She obtained her Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology, specializing in Forensics and Testing. Dr. Brower is currently employed by Nicoletti-Flater Associates, a local Denver Agency comprised of Police Psychologists. In October she will be traveling to Antarctica for a month as part of a contract with the National Science Foundation.

Dr. Brower is the daughter of Arlin and the late Sharen Brower of Saratoga, Wyoming and the granddaughter of Chris and Harriette Laursen of Newell.

Jaime graduated from Newell-Fonda High School and received her BA from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake.

Two serving as student teachers

Two Storm Lake students are among 10 students participating in the student teaching program this fall at Buena Vista University.

Sherise Gibson, is student teaching ninth through 12th grade art under Steve Schroeder at Cherokee High School; and kindergarten through 12th grade art under Rhonda Saunders at Laurens-Marathon Schools.

Donna Sennert, wife of Randal Sennert, is teaching business education under Jeff Dicks at Newell-Fonda School; and in business education under Marv Munden and Patti Demers at Aurelia High School.

Faculty supervisors for the BVU student teaching program are Dr. Ann Petersen, professor of secondary education; Dr. Robbie Ludy, professor of special education, David Boelter, assistant professor of art; and Brian Van Haaften, instructor of exercise science/education and head men's basketball coach.

Gibson is a senior, majoring in art at Buena Vista University; and Sennert is a senior, majoring in business education.
