Alicia Sargent and Tim Buhr were united in marriage on Saturday, July 31 at Grace Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Rev. Steven Schulz officiated the ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Craig and Nancy Sargent of Storm Lake and Roger and Jeanne Buhr of Mason City. Grandparents of the bride are Earl and Eleanor Otto of Storm Lake.

Organist was Scott Schuelke. The Algona Cornbelt Chorus sang "Amazing Grace", "Friends", "The Lord's Prayer", and "Irish Blessings".

The bride, escorted down the aisle by her father, wore a gown featuring a pearl and lace appliqued bodice with a lace and pearl trimmed flowing train. Alicia carried a cascade of white roses upon her confirmation Bible, a gift from her grandparents Otto and the wedding Bible of her Grandmother Bette Sargent.

Jennifer Seaton, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Christy Danielsen, friend of the bride was the bridesmaid. Leila Seaton, niece of the bride, was the flower girl. Bestman was Tony Buhr, brother of the groom. Groomsman was Larry McArthur, friend of the groom. Ushers were Marcus Seaton, brother-in-law of the bride, Todd DeWaard, friend of the groom, and Paul Sargent, cousin of the bride.

Following the ceremony a reception and dance were held at the Alta Community Center. Host and hostesses were Jim and Jan Otto, aunt and uncle of the bride, and Judy and Jerry Kirstein, aunt and uncle of the groom.

Alicia graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1995 and from Waldorf College in 1998 with a B.A. in business/finance. She is currently employed at Titonka Savings Bank in Forest City. Tim is a 1990 graduate of North Central High School in Manly and attended North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City. He is employed at Unicover, Inc. in Britt as well as being an EMT with the Garner Ambulance Service.

The couple are at home in Garner.
