Business in Buena Vista County will have the tools it needs to bolster its workforce with the laborshed study recently completed.
The results of the study were released this week. It was conducted by the Institute for Decision Making (IDM) at the University of Northern Iowa.
The study began several months ago with more than 44,000 surveys distributed to 22,000 households. The study was a joint effort by Storm Lake Area Development Corporation (SLADC), Cherokee Area Economic Development and the Laurens Industrial Foundation.
Jim Gossett, director of SLADC, is pleased with the results of the study.
"We haven't had updated labor information since 1997 and the product we have now is far superior to the information we used to be able to get," he said.
