The regular meeting of the Maple Valley Ag 4-H club was held Jan. 6, 2001, at the Alta Elementary School gym. Twenty-one members were present.
The meeting was called to order by president Laurie Grieme at 7:00 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance was led by Alyssa Engelke.
Our guest speaker invited by Adam Glienke was Jan Peterson from the Garden Gate in Alta. She talked to us about flowers and showed us how to make flower arrangements. A few members even got to try their hand at arranging.
We welcomed new members Kenny Bishop and Caleb Huseman to our 4-H club.
The secretary's report was given by Adam Glienke. Treasurer's report was given by Jake Bibler. Bills were approved to be paid to Silk Screen and Sue Grieme.
Old Business: We thanked Taylor Morehouse and Alyssa Engelke for selling hot cocoa and cookies at the Christmas Magic in December.
New Business: The Project Fair will be held at the AEA building from 7-8:30 p.m. on Feb. 7 and PQAIII training will be held on April 10 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the AEA building.
Our share committee was formed and includes, Kenny Bishop, Kelsey Peterson, Johanna Grieme, Taylor Morehouse, Alyssa Engelke and Gigi Nelson.
Pride of Iowa will be April 22, at 2:00 p.m., with the location to be announced at a later date.
Taylor Morehouse will check into skating for our March meeting and we will meet before our February meeting at 6:45 p.m.
Johanna Grieme gave a presentation on "How to give a working exhibit", Heather Kessler gave her presentation on "How to make Bubble Bread".
Games followed led by Heather and Amy Kessler. refreshments were served by Tyler Millard and Joey Ciechanowski.
Our meeting was adjourned by the 4-H pledge led by Kelsey Peterson.
