Funeral services for Margaret Genevieve Rauch, 83, of Lakeview, were held Monday, Jan. 8, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wall Lake. Father Leo Riesberg officiated the 10:30 a.m. service.

Casketbearers were Brent Rauch, Michael Wietecha, David Wietecha, Michael Brumgardt, James Cooney and Kelly Kleinsasser.

Burial services were held at St. Mary's Cemetery in Auburn. Farmer and Otteman Funeral Home of Lake View was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Rauch passed away Thursday, Jan. 4, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.

Margaret Genevieve, the daughter of George and Clara (Kemp) Lucey, was born March 10, 1917, in Salt Lake City, Utah. At the age of four, she moved with her family to the Remsen and Marcus areas to farm, and later to Auburn where her family operated a restaurant. She graduated from Auburn High School in 1934.

On Sept. 6, 1936, she was united in marriage to Richard Paul Rauch in Auburn. They lived in Pontiac, Mich. and in 1942, they moved back to the Rauch family farm near Auburn. They later farmed north of Sac City and east of Early. In 1964, they moved to the Lake View vicinity where they were both employed. Mrs. Rauch was a nurse's aid at Twilight Acres until her retirement.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Parish in Wall Lake. She was also involved in various churches as they moved. She did some 4-H work and other volunteer activities. She enjoyed playing cards, craft work and sewing.

Mrs. Rauch was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Paul in December of 1987; twin sons Richard and Robert and two sisters Rosemary and Kathleen.

She is survived by her children: Carole and Durward Kimmel of Norfolk, Neb., Joe and Wendy Rauch of Urbandale and Chuck and Jane Rauch of Storm Lake; two sisters: Joan Carlton of Balboa, Calif. and Alberta Lucey of Logan, Utah; one brother Robert and his wife Lois Lucey of Tacoma, Wash.; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren.
