Ernestine Luft

Funeral services for Ernestine Luft, 97, were held Friday, Jan. 5, at Presbyterian Church in Early. Rev. Ken Fells and Rev. William Niles officiated the service.

Casketbearers were Linda Baumeier, Barb Dahm, Vicky Lashier, Jenny Price, Doug Blass, Milt Ringgenberg, Beth Fossey and Ed Lashier.

Burial was in Early Union Cemetery. Farber and Otteman Funeral Home of Sac City was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Luft passed away Monday, Jan. 1, at the Loring Hospital in Sac City.

Ernestine, the daughter of Blaine and Evelyn (Losure) Baichtal, was born July 20, 1903, in Sac County. She was baptized and confirmed at the First Christian Church. She graduated from Sac City High School.

On Nov. 29, 1922, she was united in marriage to Milton Henry Luft. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in Early.

Mrs. Luft was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Early, Rebekah Lodge, Eastern Star and several bridge clubs. Her hobbies included baking, crocheting, knitting and playing bridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Milton on May 9, 1991; one brother John and four sisters: Lucrettia, Opal, Cecil and Shirley.

Mrs. Luft is survived by three daughters and their husbands: Jackie and Delmer Blass and Marilyn and Maurice Ringgenberg, all of Early and Joan and Ed Lashier of East Point, Mich.; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one brother Keith Baichtal of California and one sister Ladyce Ringgenberg of Fresno, Calif.
