The Sanford Museum and Planetarium in Cherokee is pleased to announce the opening of our new West Gallery exhibit, "Three Generations of Lode Farms." Displayed are replicas of three generations of Lode farmsteads. They were constructed by Werner Lode of Sheldon. After Werner retired from the farm in 1965, he began a hobby of woodworking. He decided to build replicas of his grandfather's farm in the Netherlands, his father's farm north of Sheldon, and his own farm northeast of Sheldon. The exhibit will be on display until August 31. The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 12 to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. The museum is free and open to the public. Please call 712-225-3922 if you have questions.
