WEST SIDE STORY

Thursday, July 15, 2004

The 1950's Broadway hit "West Side Story," rich in drama, comedy, familiar songs and intricate dance scenes, debuted on the Buena Vista Community Theater stage at the Roxy Theater in Alta last night.

Shows will continue nightly at 7:30 p.m. through Saturday, July 17, with a 2 p.m. matinee Sunday, July 18.

Tickets are $10, and the box office opens nightly at 6 p.m. at the Roxy. Advance seats can be arranged by calling 200-1314.

West Side Story is a retelling of the timeless Romeo and Juliet story, reset in New York's troubled west side, where the Puerto Rican street gang, the Sharks, is rumbling for turf with the resident hoodlums, the Jets. But nobody counted on a couple from different sides of the street falling in love.
