The Alta High baseball team scored early and often on its home field here Monday night, dispatching Odebolt-Arthur 17-1 in five innings in a district high school playoff baseball game.
The Cyclones scored four runs in the first inning, with three coming on a line shot over the left field fence by shortstop Jamie Hammer with two runners on base.
Alta added more in the second, with three more coming home on a three-run double by senior centerfielder Eric Holton.
Righthander Steve Hamer picked up the mound win, yielding just one run and four hits in five innings of work.
Alta moves on to face St. Mary's, again on its home field, Friday night starting at 7:30 p.m.
In another area district playoff game, Schaller-Crestland's season ended with a 5-3 loss to Rockwell-City-Lytton.
