Carmen May Hoffman, a former Storm Lake resident, died Friday, Dec. 22, at Iowa Methodist Manor Medical Center in Des Moines.

A memorial service was held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 26, at NBA-Ramsey Home in Des Moines. A private burial was held at Beaver Cemetery in Beaver.

Carmen and her husband raised two sons, Anthony E. and John R. in the towns of Laurens and Storm Lake. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star as well as a deaconess of Lakeside Presbyterian Church of Storm Lake.

For many years she worked as a medical receptionist and bookkeeper at the Storm Lake Medical Clinic before retiring to Cadiz, Ky. with her husband.

Mrs. Hoffman was preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Ida Hoelle; her husband Carl (Bill); one son John and two brothers Wayne and Forrest.

She is survived by one son Anthony; two daughters-in-law: Gisela and Elizabeth; two grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
