"Zoom," a popular and educational PBS children's program, will be featured in a New Year's Day marathon on Monday, Jan. 1, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Iowa Public Television.
Also on that day, a new "Zoom" Iowa web site is being launched by IPTV simultaneously, allowing visitors to access additional Zoom information and activities.
The marathon will feature four brand-new shows, which will kick off the third season, along with the award-winning specials, "Party with Zoom" and "The Making of Zoom."
In addition to playing games, tackling science experiments, telling stories, solving brainteasers and whipping up recipes, the new season will feature "Zoom into Action," an inspiring segment that will encourage kids to volunteer and make a difference in their communities.
In "Party with Zoom" at noon, the Zoom kids show viewers how to make any day and any get-together a real party. Then at 12:45 p.m., "The Making of Zoom" goes behind the scenes with the Season 1 Zoomers, featuring footage from the cast's first auditions, hilarious outtakes, bloopers and blunders and rare home videos of the cast on and off the set.
