City pool upgrade a concern in Alta

Friday, December 29, 2000

The Alta City Council is faced with a decision - whether or not to build a new city pool or upgrade the current one. A discussion on how the city should spend its tax dollars as well as the city's options with possible construction or upgrades will remain a concern to all of those in the Alta community.

Members of the Alta City Council and the Park Board are working together in order to make the best decision on what to do next with the city pool.

Park board member Tony Weiland said the board has recently talked about hiring a consultant to come in and give a professional evaluation on the condition and life expectancy of the pool.

"I think we'll probably discuss this more at our meeting next month and then move forward from there," Weiland said. "We have talked about hiring someone to come look at the pool, but need to discuss exactly what we want to gain from them."
