Wednesday, December 27, 2000

The 14th annual Off-Shore Masters Winter Golf Tournament, sponsored by Golf, Etc. and Cherokee Parks and Recreation, will be held Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001 at Koser-Spring Lake Park in Cherokee.

The tournament will played on frozen Spring Lake in Cherokee. The tournament format will include a challenging nine hole, par 34 course with the tees on land and the 'greens' on frozen Spring Lake. Only 6-9 irons and putters are allowed for clubs and colored balls are required.

Green fees are $15 and tee times may be made by calling 712-225-2715. Plaques will be awarded for first, second and third place winners and cash prizes will be given for flight winners. Many drawings for door prizes will be held throughout the day.

The tournament has averaged around 80 golfers, with participants coming from three states. The Off-Shore Masters is considered to be the premier winter golf tournament in the Midwest.

All proceeds will benefit the playground fund.
