DES MOINES - Jason Cook and Matt Woodin each placed first in one event to help Storm Lake finish fifth out of seven teams with 113 points at the Des Moines North Invitational swim meet last Saturday. Boone won the meet with 303 points.
Cook won the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.0 seconds, while Woodin claimed the 100 breast stroke in a time of 1 minute, 11.87 seconds.
Woodin placed second in the 200 individual medley in 2:21.18. The 200 freestyle relay tandem of Cook, Mike McKenna, Chuck Stark and Woodin took third in 1:43.8. The 400 freestyle relay team of Cook, McKenna, Stark and Woodin placed fifth in a time of 3:59.75. Cook placed fifth in the 100 freestyle in 54.33 seconds.
Jake Kurtz, Ben Ortmann, Simon Williams and Tyson Williams finished 10th in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 2:28.92. Kurtz placed 12th in the 100 backstroke in 1:44.05. McKenna finished 13th in the 50 freestyle in 28.01 seconds and 13th in the 100 freestyle in 1:03.47, while Ortmann was 14th in the 100 breast stroke with a time of 1:49.2.
