SL Springers Blue team wins gymnastics meet

WELCOME, Minn. - The Storm Lake Springers Blue team finished first at a gymnastics meet held last weekend in Welcome, Minn. The Blue team scored 124 points. The Pink team finished third with a score of 77.9.

In the upper division, Lesa Turnquist placed in five events with a first on vault and bars and second on beam, floor and all-around in the novice 7-and-under age group. Ashley Anderson placed in five events with a second on floor, while Nicole Martin placed in five events with a second on bars, beam and all-around in the novice 8-9 age group.

Kayla Block placed in five events with a first on beam, while Krystina Furst placed in five events with a second on beam in the children age 10-11 division. Ali Brashears placed in five events with a first on vault and all-around and second on beam and floor exercise in the juniors age 12-13 category. Priscilla Otto placed in five events with a first on bars and beam and second on all-around, while Abby Richardson placed in four events with a second on vault and bars. Megan Bentz placed in five events.

In the lower division, Iwa Chanthavong placed in five events with a second on beam and vault in the novice 7-and-under age group. Alex Furst placed in four events with a second on floor exercise, while Tori Peck placed in five events with a first on vault and second on bars and all-around. Katelyn Goodchild placed in five events.

Jordan Henningsen placed in three events with a second on floor exercise in the novice 8-9 age group. Brittny Rebhuhn placed in five events with a first on beam, floor exercise and all-around and second on vault. Shelby Heuton and Megan Thompson placed in three events, while Desiree Thatcher placed in two.

Cassie Moens placed in five events with a first on floor exercise in the children age 10-11 division.
