There are 1,210 deliveries for a whole in Alta's delivery area. That includes rural and city deliveries. During an average day, there are 69-150 people who are delivered to.
The post office delivers to some of the same basic people every day, as well as to many different people. They see numerous individuals each day from those who need to buy a book of stamps to those who need to send their Christmas packages out of state.
Though there's always mail to be delivered, the holiday season proves to add a challenge to those keeping the mailboxes full of holiday cheer.
Vicki Karley has been delivering mail to those in Alta for the past 13 years and said the holidays are a lot of hard work, but fun at the same time.
On a normal day, Karley said her route takes her three hours, but with the heavy holiday mail, it has been taking her quite a bit longer.
