Arthur R. Fells, Jr.

Arthur R., the son of Arthur and Beatrice (Chandos) Fells, was born April 4, 1934 in Chicago, Ill. He graduated from high school in Bellflower, Calif. in 1952.

In September of 1953 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served for eight years in Korea as a demolitions expert. In January of 1966 he enlisted in the Navy where he served as an electrician's helper until November of 1967, when he was injured aboard a ship and discharged for disability. He later worked at the Naval shipyard in Long Beach, Calif.

He was married four times and had three children. Mr. Fells was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Schaller and the Moose Lodge in Storm Lake. His hobbies included studying Civil War sites and history. Throughout his life he was an avid reader.

Mr. Fells was preceded in death by an infant brother David, one sister, Judy, and one wife, Julie.

He is survived by three children: Dawn Schooling of Buena Park, Calif., Arthur R. (Bob) Fells III of Muskogee, Okla. and Kimberly Elze of Modesto, Calif; his parents Arthur and Beatrice Fells of Schaller; two brothers: Ken and Judy Fells of Schaller and Dennis and Sandy Fells of Checotah, Okla. and one grandchild.
