Storm Lake Police were dispatched to the emergency room at Buena Vista County Hospital shortly after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in regards to a subject who was injured while preventing his bicycle from being stolen.
The subject, Jason Parker, 20, of Storm Lake, stated a person had stolen his bicycle. After he chased the person down, a physical fight occurred and he was able to retrieve his bike but injured his hand in the altercation.
Police believed that Parker's injuries were not consistent with his story and determined that Parker was not telling the truth. Police determined Parker was involved in a verbal dispute with his girlfriend and injured himself when he struck the windshield of the car with his fist and also put his hand through a window at their residence.
Parker was arrested and charged with Filing a False Report to Law Enforcement, Public Intoxication and a Minor in Possession of Alcohol.
He was transported to the Buena Vista County Jail where police further located and charged Parker with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
He was booked into the jail on $1,300.00 cash bond.
