"I'm happy to be back," Barber said. "I've always enjoyed this community and it's just a beautiful city with lots of opportunities. With the lake, the parks and the university, it's great to be back."
Barber graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1954 and promptly headed for the Army. While in the Army, Barber served as a chaplain assistant, leading him into his ministry profession.
Barber graduated from the Minnesota Bible College in 1963. In 1967, he received his BA Theology degree from Nebraska Christian College. Barber also has a BA degree in Sacred Literature and received his MA in 1991 from Pacific Christian College, now known as Hope International College.
"I was baptized, married and ordained in this here church," Barber said. "Though the church is not the same as it was when I left here, there are many memories and I look forward to the challenges that await me here."
