Alta Elementary music concert will benefit 'Friends of Frosty'

Thursday, December 7, 2000

As the nearly 175 kindergarten through third grade students gear up for their winter concert on Monday, Dec. 11, they are spending time developing their personal character by thinking of others and not just themselves this holiday season.

Preparing for the concert, the students' excited voices fill the music room each and every afternoon. The music ranges from the traditional carols to character-building songs and the premiere of their new "boomwackers."

The highlight of the concert will be the grand finale, combining all of their voices to make a statement for those who may not have what they need.

This year's concert will be a benefit for the "Friends of Frosty" charitable program for Alta area children. This is an in-house program which has been operated for the past several years. Physical education teacher Terri Zimmerman is in charge of Friends of Frosty, which benefits students who may be going through hard times who may not have the needed school supplies or basic clothing needed.
