Registration pour in for Marathon

The Ninth Annual Marathon to Marathon is scheduled for Saturday, June 12th.

This marathon is runner friendly, certified and sanctioned. The 26.2-mile marathon and marathon relay begin at 6 a.m. at the Storm Lake High School.

At 7:30 a.m. the 5K run/walk begins at the Marathon Community Center in Marathon and at 8:15 a.m. the tot trot will begin.

The Marathon is open to men and women by the following age brackets: 19 and under; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; and 60 and over. Medallions will be awarded to everyone who finishes the race and trophies will go to overall winners in both men's and women's divisions. There is a $35 fee for entering the race, which increases to $40 after June 1st.

The Marathon Relay is open to teams of five runners and includes men's, women's and co-ed divisions. Awards are given to first, second and third place teams in each division. The fee for entering this race is $80 per team and increases to $100 after June 1st.

The 5K run/walk is open to both men and women. There is a $15 fee for early registration which increases to $20 after June 1st.

Aid stations will be available every 2.5. There will be a shuttle service to Storm Lake. T-shirts will be given to all participants.

A Pasta Party will be held for runners the night before the race. It is scheduled for Friday, June 11th, from 5:30-8 p.m. at the high school. Race packets may be picked up at that time or prior to the race on Saturday.

Turkey tenderloins and pork burgers will be available for purchase at noon, and there will be on-stage entertainment.

Registrations forms for this year have already started pouring in from several states and other countries.
