Rachel Sue Johnson and Curt Louis Fredericksen were united in marriage on Aug. 5, 2000 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee. Pastor Arndt officiated the 6 p.m. double ring ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Richard and Sherri Johnson of Cherokee and Greyling and Denise Fredericksen of Aurelia.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, Richard Johnson.

Maid of honor was Jessica Taylor, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Mindi Jaminet, friend of the bride, Erica Johnson, sister of the bride, Kayla Johnson, sister of the bride and Amy Glienke, friend of the bride.

Flower girls were Bailey English, friend of the bride, Megan Schuknecht, cousin of the bride and Lyndsey Bruce, cousin of the bride.

Matt Fredericksen, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Adam Roberts, Josh Cedar, Zack Newlon and Charlie Larson, all friends of the groom. Ushers were Scott Kaskey and Aaron Hallengren, friends of the groom.

Music was provided by soloist Chad Boyer who sang, "I Cross My Heart" and "From This Moment On." Sandy Stephenson was the organist.

Following the ceremony, a buffet reception and dance was held at the VFW in Cherokee.

The bride will graduate in May of 2001 from the University of South Dakota with a double major in criminal justice and political science. She is currently working at Gateway in Vermillion, S.D. at the Cow Palace. The groom is currently working at First Financial Bank in Dakota Dunes, S.D.

The couple are making their home in Vermillion, S.D.
