Loren M. Ellrich

Graveside memorial services for Loren M. Ellrich, 85, of New Orleans, LA, formerly of Newell and Storm Lake, will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 18, at the Newell Cemetery in Newell, with Pastor Greg Baskerville officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Newell American Legion Post. The Redig Funeral Home of Aurelia is in charge of arrangements.
Loren died June 27, 2002 in the Meadowcrest Hospital in New Orleans.
Loren Mark Ellrich was born in January 25, 1917, the son of Raymond and Rose (Heilig) Ellrich, in Newell. He attended school in Newell. He was inducted into the United States Army in 1941, and was honorable discharged in 1945 with the rank of Corporal. Loren then worked for the Illinois Central Railroad as a brakeman. He later worked for his brother in the Ellrich Concrete Works in Newell, and when it closed he moved to Storm Lake where he was a Pinkerton Guard at Hygrade.
Survivors include his sisters, Jean White and Neva Grumbine both of New Orleans, LA; seven nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Preceding Loren in death were his parents; one sister, Ruth Ellrich; one brother, Bill Ellrich; two brothers-in-law, Ben White and Merriel Grumbine.

Services for John F. Walton, 78, Hardy, AR, were held on April 14, 2004 at 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Hardy with Dr. Larry Kindrick officiating. Burial was at Richardson Cemetery, Hardy, AR.
John was born June 26, 1925 in Storm Lake to Agnes (McAbe) and Floyd Walton. John worked at Walton Sign & StainGlass Co.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Walton, Hardy, AR; his sons, Charles Walton, Sarasota, FL and wife Kim, Chris Walton of Tampa, FL, Michael Walton of Tampa, FL and his wife Juana, Tim Walton of Sarasota, FL; stepson, William Browning of Lakeworth, FL; daughters, Nancy Odeh, Sarasota, FL; stepdaughter, Vicky Hart of Morristown, TN; sister, Rosemary Koenen of Spencer; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
