Alta authors to be recognized at library open house Sunday

Celebrate National Library Week (April 18-24) by attending an authors' reception at the Alta Community Library Sunday, April 18, from 3 to 5 p.m.

The library is featuring several Alta-area authors.

Barbara Ann Derksen wrote 'Mind Trap,' a fictional account of a woman's anger gone to extremes. Also appearing are Jeannie Demers Henningsen, whose thoughts about the need for support appear in 'Life's Playbook for Success,' and Brian Van Haaften, men's basketball coach for Buena Vista University. He writes about life on and off the court in 'A Look From Within.'

Though she won't be able to attend, look for the book, 'Wise Women Speak,' a compilation of essays on e of which is written by Kim Lyons-Weiland. This book is also available at the Alta Library.

These author's books will be available for purchase. An autograph session and refreshments will follow the program.

For young children in attendance, there will be stories and activities for 3- to 5-year-olds.

This event is free and open to the public. The library is located in

the new middle school addition on south Main Street.
