The Storm Lake Kiwanis Beavers are sponsoring Mike Bishop's Happy Holidays Christmas Show on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. The event will be held in the South School elementary auditorium.
Mike Bishop and Sweet 'N Sassy (Mike's wife, Dale), are national touring entertainers. They have traveled throughout 34 states, over 80,000 miles and presented 243 shows in 1999. Venues included state, county and regional fairs and festivals, art councils, RV rallies, theme parks, cruise ships, casinos, dinner theaters and corporate events. They are accompanied by a five member band who utilizes keyboards, bass, guitar, saxophones, fiddle, pedal steel guitar, drums, harmonica and banjo.
From mid-November through December, this dynamic group presents "Mike Bishop's Happy Holiday Christmas Show," a special presentation for this time of the year.
This show is a unique, high-spirited evening of entertainment for the entire family. Of course you can expect to hear traditional Christmas music both secular and popular as well. There's all the usual topics experienced during the holiday season...shopping, Santa Claus, Home for the Holidays, snow, etc... Good laughter from the comedy antics of Dale Bishop, including her rendition of the Twelve Days of Christmas and telling a Christmas story to the children.
Every song is performed with superb arrangements put together by musical director Burl Williams.
Mike and Dale captivate the audience with a genuine feel good theme throughout the entire performance and the finale brings it all together with the true meaning of Christmas.
This will most assuredly be a highlight of the holiday season.
Tickets are available by phone, at the door or at the Storm Lake Chamber of Commerce office and are $6 per person.
