Miracle on Lake Avenue 'lights holiday dreams'

The Storm Lake Chamber of Commerce would like to invite everyone to take part in this year's Miracle on Lake Avenue. The festivities will take place on Monday, Dec. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. Hear the Town Crier announce all the festivities up and down Lake Avenue and as the parade kicks off.

The Christmas Parade, "Light Your Holiday Dreams" will begin at 6 p.m. and enjoy the businesses, clubs and organizations as they present their creative holiday floats. Take a stroll of downtown Storm Lake and enjoy all the sights and sounds of Christmas, including live window scenes in the store fronts of the businesses. This year a live Nativity will be featured by the Lakeside Presbyterian youth in the Citizen's Bank drive-through. The Nativity will be compete with actors and live animals.

To add to the Christmas spirit, there will be a special visit from Father Christmas and his escort The extraordinary pair will greet the strolling public with holiday wishes and the traditional Father Christmas hug.

There will be no need to prepare dinner, as the traditional supper of homemade chili, relishes and bars will be available at the Elk's Lodge. Proceeds will benefit a national scholarship fund. Serving will be from 5 to 8 p.m.

Don't forget to treat yourself throughout the night to hot cider found at various warming stations, as well as tasty funnel cakes and delicious kettle corn.

Carolers, children, horse and buggy rides, musicians, actors and others will also be available to make this evening special for you and your family.

Santa's Castle will be open with its "Santa-spectacular" new look. "Bringing Families Together" is the theme this year and new displays and arrangements will delight both young and old alike. The castle will be open from 6 to 8 p.m.
