* The Albert City Friends of the Library present a lunch at the library building Wednesday, March 31 at noon, with a program to follow. Cheryl Crandall of Storm Lake presents "Toot, Clunk, Bang & Whistle" on musical instruments of various cultures and eras. Reservations are requested, call 712-843-2012.


* The award winning AC-T dance squad will host its final annual drill team night, "The Last Dance," on Friday, March 26, 7 p.m. The Stepperettes, coached by Colleen Wabeke, and will do several routines, including those they will do at Disney World in April.

Memories of Gang Lifestyle

* Luis Rodriguez shares his experiences of being in an L.A. streetgang, and what it took to break free. "Always Running, Vida Loca, Gang Days in L.A." is open to the public, free of charge, at Anderson Auditorium, Siebens Forum at Buena Vista University. March 30, 8:30 p.m.


* The annual Rock and Remember memorial concert is Saturday, April 3, noon-midnight at the Marathon Community Center. In concert are Brian Pixa, The Ski Band, Tantrum 2 Blind, Salamagundi, F.B.W., The Cave Band (pictured), and Two For One. A pork BBQ, door-prizes, raffles and silent auction. Tickets are $5 at the door, children 12 and under free. Meal tickets are $2. All proceeds go to help the music departments at selected area middle schools. The concert serves as a memorial to Paul Sievers of Storm Lake and Big Al Sorensen, a former technician with The Ski Band. Everyone is welcome to the family rock 'n' roll show.
