International Fair March 8

* Buena Vista University is inviting the public to the BVU International Fair Monday, March 8, starting at 7 p.m. in the Dows Conference Center, Siebens Forum. Students from various ethnic backgrounds will be presenting information on the growth and development of the cultures of their native countries or nations of ancestry - Asia, Africa, Europe, Central America and the many subcultures that influence global affairs. Admission is free.

Night of Dance

* The Storm Lake High School Dance Squad presents A Night of Dance on March 9, 7:30 p.m. Everyone is invited, and raffle prized will be offered. The team will be joined by the Dads, routines with members of the high school student body, Just for Dix dancers and elementary kids from the March 5th dance clinic.

Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for students.

Party Pizazz by Molly Wilson

* Entertaining with Pizzazz: From Appetizers to Zifandel

Are you insecure when it comes to entertaining? Thursday, March 11 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Storm Lake Middle School Media Center, Molly Wilson from the Sugar Bowl will share her creative tips. Register with CommUNITY Education by Monday, March 8. Fee $5.

Senior School

* Historian Lorraine Peterson presents "Storm Lake: World War II Days" on March 26, 10:30 a.m. at the BV County Historical Museum Theatre Room. The fee is $5 for this Senior Schoolhouse series program and the registration deadline is Tuesday, March 23 at CommUNITY Education.

Bowling Party

The Advanced Career Exploration students from Storm Lake High School are hosting a bowling party for all 7th and 8th grade students from Storm Lake Middle School. This party will be held at the Storm Lake Bowl on Friday, March 5, from 11:30 to 1:30, immediately following early dismissal. The cost is $6 per student, which covers shoe rental and two games. Pizza will be provided free of charge by the ACE program. A shuttle bus will be provided to take students from the Middle School to the Bowling Alley, although each student is to provide their own transportation home at 1:30.

ACE students felt this activity would provide 7th and 8th graders an opportunity to visit with high school students in an informal and entertaining atmosphere.

Exercise class

"No-Cost Exercise at Home," Monday, March 8 at the United Methodist Church Family Life Center. Megan Peterson, exercise psychologist from Sports Rehab, will suggest exercises to do in the convenience of the home without costly equipment in 20 to 30 minutes per day. Handouts and Thera-bands are included. Register by March 4 at CommUnity Education. The fee is $8.
