Vagina Monologues tonight at BV
* A dramatic reading of the much-discussed play "The Vagina Monologues" will be held tonight, February 26, at 8 p.m. in the Buena Vista University Centennial Room.
Roles will be read by BVU students. Admission is $2, with all proceeds to the local domestic violence crisis center program.
Dance Squad Clinic kicks off
* A dance squad clinic is being offered on Friday, March 5th from 1-3 p.m. at Storm Lake High School. Members of Storm Lake Dance Squad will instruct interested Kindergarten through 4th graders in a couple of dance routines that will then be performed on Tuesday, March 9 at the Dance Squad Night. Registrations are due by February 27 along with the $10 fee. The registration fee includes a T-Shirt that participants will receive and wear for their performance.
* Lorraine Peterson, local historian, is back for Senior Schoolhouse #3 with a special presentation Friday, March 26, "Storm Lake: World War II Days." This is an informal slide presentation on the impact of WWII on Storm Lake and will bring back lots of memories for many local residents. There will be lots of discussion as folks share their insights and experiences from those tumultuous years. Lorraine's presentations are always favorites with young and old alike. Class time is 10:30-11:30 a.m. at BV County Historical Museum Theatre Room. The fee is $5 and registration deadline is Tuesday, March 23 at CommUNITY Education.
