Leap Year in concert

In honor of the leap year, the Fort Dodge Choral Society will be presenting "Leapin' Lizards," a concert of music for rare events, Sunday, February 29 at 3 p.m. The performance will be at Grace Lutheran Church, 211 South 9th Street, Fort Dodge. Tickets $8. Roberta Bochtler and Shannon Geisinger of Storm Lake are members of the choir.

Dance class set

Popular dance instructors Curt and Connie Reis will teach the basic country western polka, two-step, waltz and line dance to couples on four Sundays beginning February 29, from 5-7 p.m. at the East Elementary School Gym. $25 per couple needs to be paid by February 26, to CommUNITY Education at 419 Lake Avenue.


The annual Walk America fundraiser has been set for Saturday, May 8 in Storm Lake. The walk will begin at Chautauqua Park at 9 a.m. to raise funds for the March of Dimes effort to help prevent birth defects. Call 877-343-6101or log on to www.walk america.com to register.

Pottery class

Arts on Grand in Spencer offers ian Intermediate-Advanced Pottery Class on Monday evenings March 1, 8, and 15 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Gene Polson, a talented potter from Marcus will be the instructor.
