The Buena Vista University Concert Choir will be presenting their first major works concert of the academic year tomorrow afternoon, Nov. 19, at 4 p.m. in Schaller Memorial Chapel on the BVU campus.
The choir will be presenting Mack Wilberg's Jubilate Deo from Tres Cantus Laudenti with brass choir; Mozart's Regina Coeli featuring Deanna Larson as piano accompanist; and portions of Handel's Messiah with strings and several Christmas season arrangements.
Student soloists for the performance include Denis Greenfield, Julie Brice, Amanda Waalk, Kathleen Brice, Justin Nicewanger, Christopher New, Paul Kolsrud and Lucas Koster. Special performances will be given by sopranos Rebecca McLaughlin and Serianna Townscend. Each will present a portion of their NATS audition program. The Vista Chamber Choir will present a preview of the upcoming Madrigal Dinner literature.
The choirs are under the direction of Paula Keeler, assistant professor of music at Buena Vista University.
The concert is open to the public and there is no admission charge.
