If you aren't contacted, you may call Tera at 732-4854 to order.
Girl Scouts of Lakota Council participates in this yearly event to help raise money for troop projects, materials, program events, community service projects, volunteer training and support, financial assistance to girls in need for membership dues and event fees, membership extension, and to maintain Camp Lakota, a 175-acre camp where girls learn of the out-of-doors, horseback ride and swim.
By participating in the sale, girls learn to set goals, express themselves, answer questions with confidence, handle money and follow through on a commitment. Adult volunteers work with the girls to set realistic goals and to help set a course of action to reach these goals. The girls set personal goals while also working as a team to fund troop activities and community service projects. In addition to the monetary proceeds from the cookies sales, girls also earn prizes and Bonus Bucks, which may be used to attend council sponsored events such as Junior Heritage Trip or an older girl "Destinations" trip. Girl Scouts of Lakota Council's goal is to provide learning and growth opportunities for all girls. The council offers over 40 annual programs to girls ranging from the arts, science and technology, social development, the out-of-doors, health and fitness, and travel. All programs are supported in part by the cookie sale. For every dollar in cookie sale proceeds, 92 percent pays for services and programs.
