CE SKI TRIPPING - The ski trip to Mt. Kato on Friday, January 30 is a go. There is still room on the bus so registrations will be accepted until noon on Thursday, January 29. The $40 registration fee covers transportation, lift ticket and ski or snowboard rental. The bus will depart at 6:15 a.m. and will return at 9 p.m. Lessons are available for the beginner. TORNADO SWING - The Storm Lake High School Swing Show will be held at South Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 31. This annual event is an opportunity to hear the high school and middle school students perform jazz and popular tunes in a relaxed atmosphere. Featured groups will be the Middle School Jazz Band, HS Jazz Choir, Jazz Orchestra, and the High School Jazz Ensemble. Tickets are available at the door, adults $4 and students at $3.

Worldly Tunes - The a cappella ensemble group SoVoSo will soon bring its eclectic act to area schools and the Lakes Art Center. The concert is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, in the Lauridsen Performing Arts Theatre, north Okoboji.

SoVoSo sings a rhythmic mix of jazz, gospel, world and R&B music, delivered in an improvisational style, from Afro-Latin idioms to traditional jazz choral arrangements. Tickets are $18 for adults. $10 for students. To reserve seats call the Lakes Art Center box office at (712) 332-7029.

Tasty Treats - The Aurelia Senior Class will have a soup and pie supper before the basketball game of Aurelia vs. AIta on Friday, January 30. A variety of soups and homemade pies will be available. Cost of the meal will be $4 for adults and $3 for students with preschool and under free. Serving time will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Aurelia lunchroom. Coffee and pie slices at halftime.
