Watercolor class begins at Witter

"Watercolor Painting for the Beginner" will be offered on two Saturdays, January 24 and 31 from noon until 3 p.m. at the Witter Gallery. No prior experience or special artistic talent is required! Rev. Gui-jie Zhang, local artist, will share her talents with those interested in learning basic watercolor techniques. Gui-jie taught art at the Nanjing Theological Seminary and her paintings have been exhibited in Europe and the United States. Class is limited to 6 participants. This class offering is a partnership between Witter Gallery and CommUNITY Education. A registration fee of $25 is due by Wednesday, January 21st to CommUNITY Education at 419 Lake Avenue. There will be an $18 supply fee at the first session.

Photo club opens

Anyone with an interest in photography is invited to attend a meeting to be held Saturday, January 31, at 1 p.m. in the afternoon at Arts On Grand in Spencer. The purpose of the meeting is to establish a club where photographers of all ages and abilities can share information, techniques, and just a love of all things photographic. Ag Show Jan. 31

Speaker Elwyn Taylor, renowned climatologist from Iowa State University will speak on the expectations of Iowa weather and its effect on crops at the Ag and Home Show in Storm Lake January 31.

Special feature speaker will be Molly Wilson form the Sugar Bowl Gift Shop demonstrating creative gift wrapping and the latest in entertaining themes for your home parties.

Venders will offer prizes and demonstrations at the former Moellers store on N. Lake Avenue. Hours will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
