STORM LAKE - The 11th annual Storm Lake Basketball Jamborees, sponsored by the Storm Lake Hy-Noon Kiwanis and the Storm Lake Times, will tip-off the basketball season for 18 area prep teams.
The jamborees will feature 10 girls teams in five games on Friday, Nov. 17, and eight boys teams in four games on Saturday, Nov. 25.
The girls pairings find Cherokee taking on Odebolt-Arthur at 5:30 p.m., Pocahontas meeting River Valley at 6:15 p.m., South O'Brien playing Battle Creek-Ida Grove at 7 p.m., Galva-Holstein facing Laurens-Marathon at 7:45 p.m., and Storm Lake meeting Wall Lake View-Auburn at 8:30 p.m.
The boys matchups include Sheldon facing Pocahontas at 6 p.m., Harris-Lake Park meeting South O'Brien at 6:45 p.m., Laurens-Marathon taking on Odebolt-Arthur at 7:30 p.m., and Storm Lake playing Galva-Holstein at 8:15 p.m.
The games will be played at Buena Vista University's Siebens Fieldhouse. Proceeds from the jamborees will benefit the Field of Dreams athletic complex and other youth recreation projects.
Admission is $3 for adults and children 12-and-under will be admitted free of charge. Tickets are available from any Storm Lake Hy-Noon Kiwanian, The Times, Wal-Mart, or at the door.
