Tour of Homes Dec. 14

CommUNITY Education's Tour of Homes will be on Sunday, December 14 from 2 to 5 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 the day of the event. Tickets can be purchased at the following locations: Abner Bell's Coffeehouse, AmeriHost Inn, Brown's Shoe Fit Co., Buena Vista Stationary, Hoffman's Flower & Candle Shop, Sugar Bowl, The Peach Blossom, S.L. Chamber of Commerce and CommUNITY Education.

Tour of Lights Dec. 11

On Thursday, December 11, CommUNITY Education will have their 4th Annual Tour of Lights for Senior Citizens from the Manors. We are asking all Storm Lake Residents to help make this a special night out by having their holiday lights on by 6 p.m. The Tour of Lights is co-sponsored by Hultgrens-Gerlach Inc.

Swede Bend Christmas

Twin Lakes Christian Center invites you to participate in their 10th Annual Swede Bend Christmas, an old-fashioned Christmas event, on Saturday, December 6.

Festivities begin at 3 p.m. with hay rides, Christmas crafts, indoor recreation including the climbing wall and shopping in the gift shop. From 5-6:30 p.m. a light supper will be served. At 5 and 6:30 p.m. identical Christmas concerts will be presented followed by carol sings in the historic Swede Bend Church lit by candles and oil lamps. Holiday Treat Symphony

The Fort Dodge Area Symphony will present "A Holiday Treat" concert on Sunday, December 7, at 3 p.m. at Phillips Middle School Auditorium. Admission at the door is $8 adults, $6 student.

The afternoon begins with the pre-concert activity at 2:15 p.m., featuring "Harpsiwhat??" by Timothy Schmidt.

The Annual Holiday Yule Walk-Tour of Homes will follow the concert from 5-8 p.m. Admission is $12 and tickets may be purchased the day of the walk at the Hawkeye Community Theatre as well as catching a free ride on the Dart Bus to all locations.

Single Sailors host dance

On Saturday, December 13, "Single Sailors" will be holding a singles mixer dance at the Storm Lake KC Hall from 8 p.m. - 12. A variety of music will be offered by DJ Chris Brown. Admission is $10.

This evening will be the last "Singles Sailors" dance in Storm Lake. A decision was made recently to offer 2004 dances only at the Fort Dodge location. BVU band concert Saturday

The Buena Vista University Holiday Concert will be held Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in Schaller Chapel. It features suites, overtures, marches, holiday favorites and a special salute to Korean War veterans, featuring special effects simulating helicopter sounds. Free.

Madrigal Dinner at BVU

BVU's Annual Madrigal Dinner will be Sunday evening, December 7 at 6:30 p.m. The dinner will be held in the Grand Ballroom in the Siebens Forum. The Royal Court of 32 students will provide two hours of music, merriment and drama. Storm Lake High School String Trio will join in. Enjoy Renaissance costumes and a six-course feast. Pat Boone in Spencer Dec. 11

Pat Boone's Holiday Show is coming to the new Clay County Regional Event Center in Spencer for one show at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 11. The legendary entertainer will celebrate the season with area choir performers. The concert will be the inaugural holiday concert at the Clay County Regional Event Center.
