Gospel concert at BVU Nov. 20

On Thursday, November 20, 7 p.m. Buena Vista University presents Voices of Praise Concert at Anderson Auditorium, Harold Walter Siebens Forum. This is a Buena Vista University campus-wide gospel choir. Under the direction of Johnessia Thomas, the choir will be performing ten gospel selections to enrich the campus and community climate.

Pianist for the evening will be special guest Charles Saunders of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Consecrated Mass Choir in Sioux City. Open to the public, free of charge.

Classical sound in choir concert

On Sunday, November 23, 3 p.m. Buena Vista University Concert Choir and Vistas Chamber Ensemble Concert performs at Schaller Memorial Chapel. The 92-voice choir with orchestra will perform "Dona Nobis Pacem" by Ralph Vaughn Williams and "Concordia" by Randall Alan Bass. The choir will also present an early Christmas segment concluding with the "Hallelujah Chorus" with orchestra. Open to the public, free of charge.

Harvest Festival lunch at Witter

Witter Gallery at 609 Cayuga Street, is hosting the Lunch 'n' Such Harvest Festival on Wednesday, November 12, from 11:30am- 1:00pm. The menu will include Acorn Squash stuffed with sausage, Homemade Rye Bread w/butter, Cranberry Relish and Apple Cake for only $5 a person. The exhibition 'Simply Functional,' Hand Blown Glass by Minnesota artist Thomas Maras can be seen, and some Gift Gallery artists have been invited to share their work, which is available for holiday gift-buying.
