Iowa artists are invited to create and donate holiday ornaments for use in decorating two Christmas trees in the Governor's office during the holiday season.
The Iowa Christmas Tree Growers have generously donated two Christmas trees to Governor Vilsack and Lt. Governor Sally Pederson. Vilsack and Pederson would like to decorate these trees with Iowa-made ornaments.
"Hundreds of Iowans donated their handcrafted ornaments last year and as a result, our Christmas trees were spectacular. They added a wonderful sense of festivity to our offices," said Vilsack.
"We hope this year's response is just as enthusiastic," added Pederson. "It's really special to see the trees when they're decorated and know they're the product of the hearts and imaginations of so many Iowans."
Persons who create and provide an ornament to the Governor's office will be invited to a special reception in appreciation of their donation. Ornaments must be received by Dec. 1.
Donated ornaments should not be larger than 3 1/2 inches in diameter. Donated ornaments can not be returned.
but will be used for future decoration.
