'Night of Stars' will attract talent to Festival of Trees Gala

Thursday, November 6, 2003

This year's Preview Gala for the Festival of Trees event will take on a "Star Search" flavor. Rather than book an entertainer, the fundraiser event is inviting local singers, musicians and other acts to perform in a competition for prizes.

The event is being themed, "A Night of Stars."

The performance will be held on November 21, the eve of the opening of the annual Festival of Trees, at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Tickets are available now for $30. Reservations can be made with Deb Lenhart at 732-1461, or tickets can be purchased at the BV Regional Medical Center Coffee Shop Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

The night begins at 6:30 with appetizers and wine or other refreshments. On the menu, provided by Holly Olson of Lake Creek Country Club, is pork loin, ceasar chicken nachos, corn beef spirals, crab tortillas, salmon and much more. Willi and Marcia Epting's popular homemade bread is also icluded.

The show starts at 7:30, with Brady Bock of KAYL Radio as emcees and a panel of celebrity judges. The stars are being lined up by Crystal Cook, and more information on joining the show is available by calling 732-3764.

Like the entire Festival of Trees weekend, the Premier Gala is a fundraiser for the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center's Auxilliary, which is making a donation to fund new mammogram equipment to help the medical center in its fight against breast cancer.
