Funeral services for Henry S. Brisbois, 82, of Missouri Valley, were held Monday, Oct. 30 at the First Lutheran Church in Missouri Valley. Pastor Daniel Brammeier officiated the 10:30 a.m. service.
Pallbearers were Terry Lovett, Todd Brisbois, Robert Lovett, Mike Osweiler, Leon Ohrulund and Devin Brisbois. Honorary bearers were Gilbert Geerdes, Don Hoffman, Ken Marquardt and Mike Steckelberg.
Burial was at Rose Hill Memorial Garden in Missouri Valley. Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Brisbois passed away on Thursday, Oct. 26 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley.
Henry, the son of George H. and Ida (Schroll) Brisbois, was born May 26, 1918 in Alta. He graduated from Alta High School.
On Sept. 19, 1946, he was united in marriage to Bernice Clark in St. Louis, Mo. The couple farmed for 20 years in the Lake City area. In 1968 they moved to Missouri Valley where he operated the Vickers Gas Station for several years. He then owned and operated the Brisbois and Sons Tire Store in Missouri Valley.
Mr. Brisbois was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter Marsha; one sister Betty and one brother, Jim.
He is survived by his wife Bernice of Missouri Valley; five children: Gary Brisbois of Honey Creek, Judy Osweiler and her husband Rodney of Norfolk, Neb., Terry Brisbois and his wife Donna of Omaha, Neb., Tim Brisbois and his wife Ruth of Elma and Rick Brisbois of Missouri Valley; two sisters: Bernice Koenen, and Marge Pender of Schaller; one brother Don Brisbois of Storm Lake; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
