SL swimmer sets school record at district meet
Snow finished fifth in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5 minutes, 51.39 seconds. That time broke her old record of 6:04.
A pair of relay teams finished seventh. The 200 freestyle tandem of Kristin Rude, Billie Blanchard, Amber Griffin and Kelly Schultz posted a time of 1:50.36. The 400 freestyle unit of Steph Klar, Jill Kestel, Megan Kestel and Snow finished in 4:09.18. Both times were season bests.
The 200 medley relay team of Snow, Kelly Larson, Jessica Anderson and Schultz placed ninth in a season-best 2:08.94.
In the 200 individual medley, Megan Bishop placed 19th in a time of 2:54.74, Emily Hinkle was 20th in 2:54.94 and Kayla Gutz 23rd in 3:06.98.
Klar placed 13th in the 200 freestyle in 2:19.68, while Emily Holliday was 15th in 2:20.04 and Jill Kestel 16th in 2:20.39.
Rude finished 10th in the 50 freestyle with a time of 27.28 seconds, while Blanchard was 11th in 27.38 and Schultz 13th in 27.50.
Griffin placed 21st in the 100 butterfly in 1:18.15, while Anderson was 24th in 1:21.78. In the 100 freestyle, Lyndsey Reinert was 17th in 1:04.93, Matty Richardson 19th in 1:05.72 and Megan Wagener 25th in 1:09.65.
Megan Kestel finished 11th in the 500 freestyle in 6:06.28, while Klar was 15th in 6:30.15.
Reinert finished 22nd in the 100 backstroke in a time of 1:21.28, while Natalie Gamache was 23rd in 1:22.47. In the 100 breast stroke, Larson was 13th in 1:18.13, Griffin 19th in 1:22.79 and Angie Hohneke 21st in a time of 1:23.94.
Storm Lake loses six seniors to graduation in Jill Kestel, Lori Sorenson, Hinkle, Wagener, Reinert, Nichole Ahlers and Lia Gianetti.
