ALTA - Matt Reimers rushed for 207 yards and two touchdowns, and Schaller-Crestland's defense held Alta to just 49 yards rushing in the game as it went on to post a 28-6 victory in the season finale Friday night.
Schaller-Crestland got on the scoreboard first when Reimers busted loose for a 38-yard TD run. Kelly Rydberg ran in the two-point conversion.
It stayed that way until the 8:40 mark of the second quarter when Rydberg scored from 6 yards out. The two-point conversion failed, making it 14-0 Wildcats.
Reimers, who had 17 carries, scored again in the third quarter on a 7-yard run to make it 22-0.
"We really battled ourselves the whole first half," Alta coach Kevin Hammer said. "We had too many penalties, and that put us in poor field position. They took advantage of it and scored two touchdowns."
"I think our defensive tackles did a fantastic job of staying low," Schaller-Crestland coach Dale Tokheim said. "Our linebackers read well and flowed to the ball hard. Our offensive line executed again and Matt Reimers had an outstanding game."
Alta scored on a 61-yard pass from Josh Droegmiller to halfback Jon Nielsen. Nielsen was held to 47 yards rushing.
Nate Wiese had 16 tackles for Alta, which finished 4-5 overall. Nielsen had 12 and Ryan Schultze 11.
