Sioux Central's 'Bye Bye Birdie'

Sioux Central High School will present the musical, "Bye Bye Birdie" on November 7, 8, and 9. They are needing some clothes from the 50's. If you have any clothing that would have been worn in the 1950's and would be willing to loan them for the musical please contact Heidi Thies, Rick Roghair, or Kris Skelton at Sioux Central, 283-2571. Specific items they need are Poodle Skirts (or similar ones), Ladies' Dresses, Mens' Suits, Mens Sweater Vests, and Hats.

Pumpkin Hollow Opens Saturday

Visit Pumpkin Hollow, sponsored by the Maple Valley Ag. 4-H Club of Buena Vista County, starting every weekend in October from 1-5 p.m. A School Tour Package can be arranged for October 9 and 10, for more information call 284-2690. Located two miles North of Alta on M31 (50th Avenue) and a half-mile west on gravel. Watch for the signs.

BVU Homecoming Parade Set

The Buena Vista University Homecoming Parade is being planned for Friday, October 17, at 4:15 p.m. Everyone is welcome to watch the fun as the parade passes through downtown Storm Lake.

Octoberfest at Witter Gallery

The Witter Art Gallery is offering an Octoberfest theme luncheon October 8, 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., with brats, hot German potato salad, apple cake and homemade breads. Music will be provided by Roger Christiansen on the accordion. Cost is $5 at the door.
