St. Mary's High School releases first quarter honor roll

St. Mary's High School has released the names of students in grades 9-12 who earned honor roll status. They include the following:

Platinum Honor Roll 4.01 - 4.33

Millang receives scholarship

Amy Millang of Storm Lake has received a $250 Boone Campus Scholarship from the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) Foundation for the fall semester.

Millang graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1993 and is now enrolled in DMACC's nursing program. She is the daughter of Bruce and Pamela Milbrandt of Storm Lake.

Studying the Holocaust to be presented

Community Education is sponsoring "Studying the Holocaust: Sights, Sounds, Sensations" on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at the Middle School Media Center from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Professor Dixie Bartholowmew-Fels, a Buena Vista University Interim 2000 traveler, will present a perspective insight on the group's visit to Poland, Israel and the Czech Republic.

The registration fee is $5 and the registration deadline is Monday, Nov. 6 and may be made at Community Education, 419 Lake Avenue.
