St. Mary's launches Big Raffle program

Tuesday, October 31, 2000

The five prizes are: one $10,000 prize; a $2,500 prize and a $1,000 prize and two $500 prizes.

Winners will be drawn following the Live Auction at the 2001 St. Mary's Ball and Charity Auction "Passage to the Far East." Winners need not be present to win and will be responsible for all taxes and fees.

Last year's raffle was a big success with all of the 400 donations collected by the end of the year. Unfortunately, some donors were turned away once all of the tickets were gone. Rachel Fitzpatrick, a 1998 graduate of St. Mary's, won the $10,000 prize last year. She was also a volunteer salesperson.

St. Mary's supporters Bob Lenhart and Mike Pertzborn have again agreed to chair the Big Raffle. Lenhart is a graduate of St. Mary's High School and currently has several grandchildren attending St. Mary's Schools and Pertzborn has a son in fourth grade at St. Mary's.

Both Lenhart and Pertzborn will be selling tickets, as well as Francis Koch, last year's top salesperson, Doug and Joanie Clausen, Grace Ivey, Tim Mach, Dan Richardson, Dave Drey, Jane (McKenna '79) Langner, Tim and Carrie Brown and Dawn Prosser. Tickets may also be obtained at St. Mary's Parish Offices, 732-4925 or develstm@ncn.net.

Ticket sellers may earn a free ticket for every lot of 25 turned in with payments by Dec. 31, 2000.

Tickets are available for a donation of $100 each, while they last, with cash, check, Visa or MasterCard accepted for donation payment.

All proceeds from the raffle will benefit the tradition of Catholic Education at St. Mary's Schools.
