The Divorce Recovery Workshop will be offered this Fall beginning Monday, October 6, at 7 p.m. at the Storm Lake United Methodist Church, 211 East Third Street, Storm Lake.
This is the 9th year the Storm Lake United Methodist Church has been offering to the community an interdenominational Workshop Series, The Divorce Recovery Workshop.
The co-leaders of this workshop are Beverlye Nelson, a professional counselor and Barbara Kestel, a former participant.
The sensitive, Christian-based curriculum is designed to help people who are currently experiencing a separation/ divorce or recovering from a divorce find healing, build supportive relationship and set new directions in their lives.
The topics, which are presented by Divorce Care Videos, followed by discussion, will include: feelings experienced in a divorce, coping with the past, dealing with anger and depression, caring for kids, handling finances, working on forgiveness, forming new goals, looking at new relationships and other topics pertinent to the needs of the persons in the workshop.
The Workshop is limited to twelve persons. Cost is $10 for the 10-week session. Each evening meeting lasts one and one-half hours. Child care can be arranged if requested. For information or registration, call Storm Lake United Methodist Church at 712-732-5458.
