Customers in Alta who have subscribed to the new Altatech service began getting connected to the new system Tuesday morning. Plans are to have every customer hooked up by today.
The first system the customers are being offered is the Altatec cable TV service, which will be used to test the rest of the system with.
"Everything is going really well," project technician Brad Koth, said. "The weather has really helped us get things finalized."
There are currently 234 new subscribers to the system and Koth believes they will see more once people realize they can now be connected.
"They (the customers) will be connected to the system as soon as we get them hooked up," Koth said. "It takes us about 10 minutes to get each house connected so it shouldn't take us very long."
Each home has received a 6" X 8" ADC box where the data will go into for the selected services. This week Altatec employees have been connecting a cable to this box that will allow all services to come to the home over the same wire.
