Chi Kung classes begin

Chi Kung, the most ancient of martial arts, created a lot of interest at the Community Education summer Prime Time! Designed for life, these eighteen soft and gentle flexing and stretching movements are done in silence and create a meditation in motion. Chi Kung can be helpful in the management of arthritis, osteoporosis and diabetes.

Instructor Jo Bachman, a Chi Kung practitioner for 20 years, will be offering "Staying Forever Green" on 12 Tuesdays beginning September 9, from 8-9 a.m. at the Storm Lake Methodist Church Family Life Center room. Registration fee is $40 and needs to be paid to CommUNITY Education at 419 Lake Avenue by September 5.

Stand-up in Sac

Comedian Jeremy Danley, a.k.a. the "Mighty" JerDog, is appearing at The Place On State in Sac City, Saturday, September 6. He's looking forward to performing in his home state again.

JerDog, now living in Atlanta, is a 28-year-old stand-up comedian working with several regional agents who book him on national tours. He has been performing in comedy clubs since he made his professional debut at the Des Moines Funny Bone, eight years ago. JerDog credits Bill Cosby, Richard Pryor, Denis Leary, and Cheech & Chong with influencing his style.
